Chuck and Diane's garage floor had seen better days. Cracks running across the slab, oil stains soaked into the concrete, and a generally worn-out surface that made the whole space feel rough and neglected. It's one of those things you walk past every day and think - yeah, that needs to get done eventually. Well, eventually finally came.
Before we put down anything, the floor had to be properly prepped. That's not a step we skip. Grinding the surface opens up the concrete so the coating actually bonds instead of just sitting on top. It's the difference between a floor that lasts years and one that starts peeling after a season. You can see in the before shots just how rough and stained that slab was - not exactly a simple paint-and-go situation.
We went with our Olive Grove finish for this one. It's a full broadcast flake system - color flakes are scattered across the base coat and then locked in with a clear topcoat. The result is a floor that looks sharp, handles foot traffic and vehicle weight without complaint, and is genuinely easy to clean. Oil, dirt, water - it wipes right up instead of soaking in.
What we ended up with is a completely different space. The Olive Grove blend pulls in warm neutral tones that work well in a garage setting - not flashy, just clean and well-done. The floor reflects light better too, which makes the whole garage feel brighter and more organized even before you move a single thing around.
A coated floor does more than look good. It protects the concrete underneath from moisture, staining, and further cracking. For Chuck and Diane, that worn-out slab is now a durable surface they won't have to think about for a long time. If your garage floor is in a similar spot, this is exactly the kind of work we do.
